Forza Street is a thrilling free-to-play racing game that brings the popular Forza racing series to the world of gaming. Unlike its Xbox exclusive counterpart, Forza Motorsport, Forza Street allows players to experience the ultimate car racing scene on their computer devices. With this game, fans of the Forza series can enjoy action-packed racing anytime and anywhere.
Although the app bears the Forza name, it is actually a rebranding of the Microsoft-released game, Miami Street. Forza Street takes the core of the game and enhances it with a refreshed narrative, faster boot-ups, new animations, and upgraded car parts. The game also offers a wide range of languages, including German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Chinese, Russian, and Spanish (Latin America), allowing players to enjoy the game in their preferred language.
Forza Street provides various gaming options to keep players engaged. You can participate in one-minute races to win instant prizes or embark on an endless story with multiple paths to victory. The game introduces new content every week, offering fresh events, challenges, and stories to keep the excitement going.
One of the highlights of Forza Street is its impressive roster of legendary cars, ranging from classic muscle cars to modern sports and retro supercars. However, instead of the traditional method of upgrading your car, you can obtain new vehicles through loot boxes. The game measures a car's power through the performance index (PI), with higher PI values making it easier to win races. This means that even a Mustang can defeat a Japanese tuning car as long as its PI is higher.
Forza Street features unorthodox game mechanics that differ from other racing series bearing the Forza name. The gameplay mechanics are similar to the popular mobile game CSR Racing, utilizing a one-button control scheme. You simply need to hold the spacebar or click your mouse to accelerate. Releasing the spacebar or mouse at the right time will automatically create a turn, guided by highlighted curves on the track. Additionally, there is a nitrous boost that can be activated periodically to enhance your car's performance.
However, while the gameplay may be simple, Forza Street lacks the traditional racing elements found in other racing games. There is no steering, braking, or deliberate drifting involved. Furthermore, the game includes an energy timer that limits the number of races you can play, requiring you to wait for your energy bar to refill. This lack of racing elements and the energy meter may make the game less appealing to hardcore arcade racing enthusiasts, especially when compared to other racing games like the Asphalt series and Street Racing 4x4, which offer more in-depth racing control and action.
In conclusion, Forza Street offers visually appealing graphics with its new animations and movie-like action camera shots. It is easy to set up and allows players to switch to their preferred language. However, the game's major drawback is its tendency to become repetitive and boring after a while. The races lack variety, and the absence of steering and drifting may lead to a loss of interest after completing a few races. Ultimately, Forza Street fails to live up to the iconic Forza name.
